Description
Witness the dawning of hope for the poor
A collection of stories that unveil realities about the urban poor in the Philippines, this book is a journey that will take you right into the heart of Manila’s slums. Walk alongside the men, women, and youth who dwell on the fringes of the city, and see them with renewed eyes.
Through the stories of Jun and the Sitio Pag-asa community, author Patrick Hobbs gives the poor a voice that carries a ring of hope—and makes us listen.
"I couldn’t stop reading…. Dawn Harvest is an easy read about real people… set in a fictitious urban poor settlement. The grassroots work of Bukang Liwayway (Dawn for the Poor) has brought hope and new beginnings to many in the urban slums."
—Dr Lee Wanak, Program Director, Center for Transformational Leadership, Asian Theological Seminary
